Vicar W. Eric Saed, SAWL

Vicar Eric Saed (last name rhymes with "made" or "paid") is a recent graduate of the TEEM (Theological Education for Emerging Ministries) Program of the Lutheran Seminary Program in the Southwest in Austin, Texas in conjunction with Wartburg Seminary.  His candidacy is up for approval in late summer 2020, and should culminate in becoming a fully ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in November 2020.  Vicar Eric will then be known as "Pastor Eric" and continue on here in his call at TLC-Clovis.

Vicar Eric was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He grew up in, and was confirmed at, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.  With family ties to Texas, Vicar Eric has gone back and forth between Texas and Minnesota more than once...he completed his undergraduate degree in Sociology at Texas Tech University in 1996. Prior to discerning his call to ministry, Vicar Eric spent several years in the field of business research, the majority as a research project manager for the Thomson Reuters information conglomerate.  Returning to Texas in 2013, he started on the road to ministry in volunteer positions at Shepherd King Lutheran Church in Lubbock, Texas. He continues to serve in the NT-NL Synod's Prison, Addiction & Recovery Ministry The Church of the Damascus Road, facilitating groups in Lubbock and Tulia, Texas.

Vicar Eric lives with his cat, Hunter (aka Beast), and a bunch of books.  He enjoys spending time with his father who lives in Lubbock whenever possible.  He also has a sister who lives in Cloudcroft, New Mexico and a brother who is a Baptist (!??!!) minister in Smyer, Texas.  In addition to his theological interests, Vicar Eric is an architectural historian who has done extensive research into the works of Frank Lloyd Wright and his apprentices.
